Hello!! Welcome to the official website of Sunderland Ladies Hockey Club!
SLHC is a small club based in the North East of England at Meadowfield Sports Centre, Durham.
The aim of our club is to provide development and enjoyment to players of all ages and abilities, from our promising junior section through to our 1st team playing in the national league.
We have an ever-growing junior section that is trained by other members of the club consisting of approximately 50 juniors. The club also provides many opportunities for juniors, both in the North East Junior Hockey League and alongside more experienced players in the Harper League. There is the opportunity for promising juniors to play in the cubs senior teams with the second team playing in the First Division of the Durham Clubs League and the first team in National League Division One, having been promoted this year.
The second team includes players of many ages with the more experienced helping the younger players develop and improve in a friendly environment. The second team also acts as a stepping stone to playing at National League, helping players gather experience and confidence within the club.
The First team have had great success last year by winning their League. This meant automatic promotion into the National League Division One and are continuing their good form so far this season at the top of the league table.
Sunderland Ladies Hockey Club is not just about the Hockey, the social side of the club is also important to every member.
